Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of ClearGate Security's browser extension and website (collectively, "the Service").
What the Service does
On supported AI sites, ClearGate scans prompts locally, replaces supported sensitive information it detects with synthetic values before submission, and attempts to restore those values in the AI's response before you read it.
What the Service does not do
ClearGate reduces the risk of sensitive information being exposed to third-party AI providers. It is not a guarantee against every possible form of data exposure, and it does not control what those third-party AI providers do with the synthetic data they do receive. You remain responsible for your own use of any AI tool.
Plans and billing
- Free includes core protection categories with a daily usage limit, at no cost.
- Personal is a paid monthly subscription providing expanded protection categories and unlimited usage, billed through Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. You can cancel at any time through your account portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- If you're not satisfied, you're entitled to a full refund if requested within 14 days of your first charge — email ranveerjayaswal@gmail.com. Requests made after 14 days are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to violate any law, to attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent the Service's security mechanisms, or to interfere with the Service's operation for other users.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Software has bugs; we work to fix them but cannot promise a specific outcome for any given prompt.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClearGate Security is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages related to information that was transmitted to a third-party AI provider despite the Service's protection.
Changes to the Service or these terms
We may update these terms or modify the Service over time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violation of these terms. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
